Our schools vary widely in size, location, and demographics. For example, Portland High School is in a city of close to 100,000. PHS has roughly 1,200 students, of which 30% are students of color and 40% are considered economically disadvantaged. 135 GEAR UP students currently attend. In contrast, Lubec Consolidated School is located close to the Canadian border along Maine's coast. 29 of the 45 students in the high school are part of GEAR UP.
