""Maine State GEAR UP Program
Creating a College-Going Culture in Maine

The flexibility given to districts to guide their budgets has made the liaison role vary from school to school. Some schools have a part-time or full-time dedicated liaison, others increase the hours of an already existing guidance position, and others have a full-time liaison that covers multiple schools.
