The GEAR UP Maine grant includes 47 middle and high schools in 18 districts across the state. Close to 3,000 students are engaged in various ways to increase their awareness and preparedness for postsecondary education and opportunities. Empowering School DistrictsSchools are implementing the GEAR UP goals and objectives in district-guided plans. Shifting a large portion of control to districts creates a more meaningful and targeted course, which includes: allocation of budget, strategies to achieve end goals, and ability to focus on areas of self-assessed need. Check it out! Flip through the 100 College Going Strategies booklet, or "flip book," to learn ideas about how to promote a college-going culture in your school! |
